Galway Native Launches Benefit CD for Mayo Man

Galway native Jacqueline Moran of Cloon, Claregalway, last week released her debut single, “Open Oceans” both here and in the States where she now resides. The West Star winner has chosen to donate all proceeds from the sale of the CD to the Vince Heneghan benefit fund. The fund was set up to help the family of Mayo native Vincent Heneghan who, following a fall in the States, requires considerable costly rehabilitation.

The song “Open Oceans” tells the story of the Naomh Barbara; the Galway hooker
which was built in Chicago by Irish immigrants and sailed by five
Galwegians from Montrose Harbor to Galway Bay, in a grueling six-week voyage.
The voyage and return leg can be traced on www.saintbarbarasails.com.

The CD is available now for €10 at
Zhivago Records (011-353-91-564198)
and outlets nationwide.

Taken from the Galway Advertiser.

A benefit is being held to assist Vince Heneghan.
Vince and his wife, Kathleen (nee McGing), are natives
of Tourmakeady, Co. Mayo, Ireland.  Vince suffered
a fall on March 29, 2006, in which he incurred a head
injury with inner cranial bleeding requiring
emergency brain surgery.  He has been hospitalized
ever since with several setbacks, including a
pulmonary embolism, heart surgery, infections
and internal bleeding.  He is facing several months,
if not years, of rehabilitative physical therapy.

The benefit will be held at The Irish American Heritage Center,
4626 North Knox Avenue, Chicago on Saturday,
October 20, 2007, from 4pm until 11pm.

Donations are voluntary at the door.
Food, music and entertainment will be provided,
in addition to a Silent Auction and Grand Raffle for $10,000.
There will be a cash bar.

If you would like to help Vince by making a contribution,
checks may be sent to the:
Special Needs Trust for Michael Heneghan
c/o LaSalle Bank
1565 North Clybourn Avenue
Chicago, Illinois 60610

If you need further information about the benefit, please contact:
Blanche (Bridget) Byrne:  773.491.5150
Mike Byrne:                      773.491.7945

We thank you in advance for any help you can give
and look forward to seeing you on October 20, 2007.
